Sugar is a rat poison
Did you know that sugar kills rats? It might not be your best friend but it is certainly a significant enemy for rats! It’s also hugely addictive. Researchers at prestigious Princeton University found that when rats were fed a sugar-rich
diet, they underwent brain changes. These
changes were similar to the alterations made by cocaine, morphine and nicotine. Yes, nicotine is a drug, too. Let’s not forget alcohol, as well. Any substance ending in “ol” is a sugar. People drink alcohol because the sugar content gives them a quick energy boost. The cocktail hour comes at the end of the working day.
Drinkers get a second wind before dinner. This second wind raises blood sugar and then drops it quickly. Most habitual drinkers have blood sugar issues.
Smoking is a sugar issue
Nicotine is highly addictive. We have already said it’s a drug.and that’s why quitting smoking is so difficult. As a hypnotherapist, I have worked with many people to help stop them from smoking. Many years ago I teamed up with London’s Capital Radio on “National No Smoking Day” The day in question is “Ash Wednesday” which fell on March 13th in
2019; the second Wednesday in March. On the first occasion, we filled one of the station’s studios with people and gave them a session of mass-hypnosis. again in order to feel better. It seemed most smokers suffered from reactive hypoglycemia or low blood sugar. A cigarette has the same effect as a quick sugar fix. The effect was the same as a sugary snack. When people stopped smoking they often put on weight as they ate to satisfy their sugar needs. Smoking is responsible for an array of health issues. So you can see a major reason why sugar is not your friend.
Sugar Makes You Fat.
Sugar plays a starring role in weight gain. More than 30% of the population in the West and the East is rapidly catching up, Is obese. The average American consumes 152 lbs or 69 Kg of sugar annually. I weigh 73 Kg so that is almost equivalent to my weight in sugar!. Clinical obesity is when your BMI (Body Mass Index) is over 30 Kg/M2. BMI is calculated by body mass divided by the square of body height. Being overweight is dangerous as it poses significant health issues. Dr. Pranesh Dandora of the University of Buffalo published a study in the “Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism”. In this study, Dandora’s team added the startling claim that eating sugar leads to the production of free radicals
Free radicals are unattached electrons; free radical damage is another word for the ubiquitous term “inflammation”. Inflammation is the root of a lot of diseases. One result would be the formation of arterial plaque. This scaling of the arterial wall hinders blood flow which often results in high blood pressure. Diabetes 2 is another example of inflammation; this is when insulin receptors burn out which means sugar levels can rise very high. Insulin is a hormone that controls blood sugar. Its job is to go out and scoop up all the sugar and take it off to the liver for storage. Only small quantities can be stored at any time. The excess turns to fat and causes weight gain. Dr. Dandora’s study pointed out the obvious. Eliminating sugar was crucial in losing weight.
It also reduced inflammation.
Sugar Causes Cancer.
German scientist Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for his work on Cancer and sugar in the 1930s. Cancer’s preferred food is sugar. How do you make alcohol? You take sugar and add it to grapes for example. The sugar is turned to alcohol by fermentation. Cancer cells stop breathing and start fermenting. Alcohol is acidic and so is this process, Fermentation stops respiration. This means cancer cells thrive in an acidic, anaerobic environment. They say that very soon 1-3 of all women and 1-2 of all men will experience cancer at some stage in their lives. I would call this an epidemic! Understand that sugar is cancer’s preferred food. The first step is to eliminate sugar. You’ll lose weight but also significantly reduce your chances of falling victim to cancer. It’s simple, isn’t it? Clean up your diet by eliminating sugar and reduce your cancer risk. Now, that’s not rocket science!

I think everybody has grasped the fact that sugar is not your friend. The simplest solution is to eliminate added sugar
- Stop adding sugar to food
- Stop buying processed foods full of sugar
- Stop eating chocolates and sweets (the exception is dark chocolate with a cacao content of 85% or more)
- Stop eating sugary foods like biscuits and cakes.
- Stop buying sugar-laden sodas
- Stop drinking fruit and vegetable juices that come in cartons. Buy a juicer and make your own.
